Stock for stock, I would run my '08 viper against any Z06.

If you are referring to a drag race, I will put my money in the Viper (as much as I hate to) if you can get the car to hook. Now on a road course, I will go with the Z. It also will depend on the drivers ability also.

The numbers are so close, the vette is alot easier to drive fast, the viper is faster. Especially as the speeds increase.
But on a road course, depends on the course. There are courses out there where a miata or lotus will eat us up. Oh yeah, just remember 7:22

4th gen is 202mph. Some of the internet numbers floating around are wrongly stated as 220.
600hp and 560 ft/lbs. 0-60 is 3.4sec Braking is like dropping an anchor out the window. |

The Gen 3 had a top speed of 196.
0-60 at just under 4 sec, reported as 3.9x . 510 hp and 535 ft/lbs The graph shows more torque down low compaired to the Gen 4. The Gen 4 power curve keeps going and doesnt flatten out like a Gen 3 due to the cam in cam. If you drive a Gen 3, you know what Im talking about, car feels flatter at high rpms. But lets be serious, both have enough power to have us locked up. Last edited by Tabs; 07-16-2009 at 10:59 AM. |

I'm thinking it will be the driver mod that makes or breaks the outcome.
But what do I know...LOL

Driver mod is a huge factor and too often overlooked.
Look at some of the crappy times these magazines get from these terrible drivers. Plus if you want to lighten the car, the cheapest way is to lose weight
